THOMIRE I CANDLEHOLDERS

This small candle holder gives the impression that the candle is levitating.
This visual effect is given by fixing the candle on the brass tip.
This candlestick takes its name from Pierre-Philippe Thomire (1751-1843), a French sculptor, bronzemaker, founder, chiseler and gilder.
One of the most remarkable bronzemakers of his generation, he is recognized for his production of furniture bronze under the Ancien Régime.
Under the Empire, he raised this craft to its highest level of quality, while creating in the early years of the 19th century, an industrial company whose influence is European.
