THE MARTINCOURT APPLIANCE

A decorative wall lamp available in 3 versions
To light up, the Egyptians used silver mirrors that reflected light. This principle is reinterpreted here on a wall lamp with clean, curved shapes.
This sconce bears the name “Martincourt” in memory of this bronzier, sculptor and modeler (1762-1791) who supplied high quality candlesticks, sconces and clocks for the crown.

AND THE IDEA
COMES TO LIFE …

A VERSATILE APPLIANCE
IN THREE VERSIONS
- an electric version with connection box
- an electric version with a 2m wire, switch and electrical outlet for places that do not have a dedicated electrical system for wall lights
- the traditional version with a candle

FINISHES
The reflector is shiny polished then varnished.
The arm of the wall lamp and the bobèche have a ” champagne ” finish. That is to say that the brass is brushed very finely then a varnish is applied.

MATTER
The wall lamp is made entirely of brass.
The reflector is made from a sheet of brass. This is cut to shape and then hammered to give it its concave shape.
This work is done by hand . Hammering requires great dexterity to obtain a homogeneous result on the reflector.

The deadlines are two weeks if the part is in stock, otherwise it is made to order in 3 months. Each handcrafted piece is unique, variations can be seen with the photos.
